"I strongly oppose the draft
Wild
Olympics proposal. It is not balanced and will memorialize the poor
management our National Forests have experienced for the last twenty
years. I do not support any additional acreage being added to the
Olympic National Park, the Wilderness additions as proposed are mostly
inappropriate and not characteristic of wilderness. I ask that
destruction of public access be stopped and that restoration of public
access be restored at the forest road 2180 in the Sam’s River. I
respectfully ask that our Congressional delegation not adopt this
proposal and seek a broader conversation with local communities that
results in a balance of conservation, recreation and harvest management
of these resources that provides economic stability and family wage
jobs."
